Born and raised in the Coachella Valley, Valerie De La Paz has always been deeply connected to her community and passionate about healthcare. She began her academic journey at College of the Desert (COD), where she earned an Associate’s Degree in Liberal Arts with an emphasis in Math and Science. She then transferred to San Diego State University, completing a Bachelor’s degree in Public Health with a minor in Spanish.
During her undergraduate years, Valerie earned the prestigious Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship, which allowed her to study abroad in Madrid, Spain. There, she took specialized Spanish courses for health professions—an experience that reinforced her commitment to serving diverse patient populations as a future healthcare provider.
Before transitioning into the medical field, Valerie was actively involved in local political campaigns, many of which focused on public health initiatives. Her passion for direct patient care led her to obtain certifications as a Medical Assistant and Phlebotomist. She has gained hands-on clinical experience working in Urgent Care in San Diego, at Fleur Women’s Health, and now at Juventas, where she combines her medical expertise with her role as Social Media Coordinator.
With her ultimate goal of becoming a Physician Assistant, Valerie continues to expand her skills and knowledge in the healthcare field. Outside of work, she enjoys golfing, hiking, working out, and traveling as often as possible.
